Our son Jack was diagnosed in 2012 with a genetic disease called PCD (Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia). Jack was born with this, however, being a rare disease that is hard to diagnose, wasn't diagnosed until he was 8 years old.

The Drive Fore PCD was created by our family in 2017 as an annual outing to help create awareness and raise money for the PCD Foundation.  In our first 2 years we were able to raise $22,000 for the PCD Foundation in efforts to continue the much needed research and address severe unmet needs in the PCD community.  It is our goal to continue to grow this amount each year with the continued support of family, friends and community.

PCD is a genetic disorder of the microscopic organs called cilia that line the upper and lower respiratory tract including nasal passages, sinuses and lungs, Eustachian tubes of the ear, reproductive organs and ventricles of the brain. There are defects of the cilia causing profound difficulty in clearing airway and causing illness. It is often compared to cystic fibrosis, another devastating genetic disorder sharing many features with PCD and therefore treatments are often the same. It is rare, not tested for currently at birth and no cure at this time.
